Role & Responsibility The Primary role of the successful candidate is that of Java developer. Knowledge of Linux is also required as Sykon also acts as an ASP hosting our own software for a range of blue chip clients. Developers are also required to aid in remote installation/maintenance of software on the data centre servers. Good interpersonal skills and experience in a team environment essential.

Experience – Required Java /J2EE Server side development on Windows / Linux Swing, AWT, JSP Client side GUI development Basic Relational Database skills (SQL)

Experience – Beneficial J2EE deployment on JBoss App Server Deploying webapps on Tomcat Knowledge of Linux Software Modelling – UML Experience with Junit for unit testing Code Versioning – CVS or other Knowledge of JBuilder, Eclipse or similar environment Mysql or other RDBMS administration. Web Development experience an advantage – HTML,XML/XSL, Struts - esp. XML/XSL development with Cocoon Knowledge of Web Services Building with ANT Development with PersonalJava / J2ME

Qualifications: Degree holder in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or related discipline.
